The Diocese of Imus, Cavite, with profound sorrow, announces the passing of Rev. Fr. Jose “Joey” S. Demoy, Parish Priest of Ang Mabuting Pastol Parish, Palapala, City of Dasmariñas, Cavite. Fr. Demoy returned to the loving embrace of the Father on January 30, 2026.

Fr. Demoy was a devoted priest whose ministry extended far beyond the borders of Cavite. He served for many years as Chaplain of the Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy (FCC) in Vienna, Austria, where he became a spiritual father to thousands of Filipino migrants. His pastoral leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication left a lasting imprint on the Filipino community in Europe.

In a message posted on its official Facebook page, the Filipino Catholic Chaplaincy in Vienna expressed its grief and gratitude, stating: “With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Father Joey Demoy, who served as our chaplain for many years and was an important pillar of our community.”

Upon returning to the Philippines, Fr. Demoy continued his priestly mission with the same zeal and humility, eventually becoming Parish Priest of Ang Mabuting Pastol Parish. His ministry was marked by a deep love for the Eucharist, a gentle pastoral presence, and a sincere commitment to serving the People of God.

Details regarding the wake and the schedule of the Funeral Mass will be announced in due course.

The Diocese of Imus humbly asks the clergy, religious, and lay faithful to offer prayers for the eternal repose of his soul. May the Lord grant him eternal rest, and may perpetual light shine upon him.
